Description
For sale is a Riley 12/ 4 Sprite replica from 1938. The car was fully restored and rebuilt around 2006/ 2007. The wings (fenders) as well as other body panels come from an original Riley Sprite. Missing components were manufactured and supplied by N. C. Jarvis. After completion, the Riley was used at numerous VSCC events before passing into the hands of a new owner.
Under the current owner the vehicle has been technically further optimised and prepared for historic rallies – including prestigious events such as the Flying Scotsman, the Mille Miglia or the Gran Premio Nuvolari. The 1, 496 cc four‑cylinder 12/ 4 engine – original Sprite specification – was recently fully overhauled and received, among other things, a new crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons. The 4‑speed manual transmission was also revised and technically refreshed. Invoices are available for the work carried out. This Riley 12/ 4 Sprite Rep. is currently still registered in England.
It has been accepted by the Mille Miglia organisers for participation. In addition, the vehicle carries an FIA‑HTP Vehicle Passport permitting participation in the Le Mans Classic, as well as a FIVA Vehicle Passport and the VSCC Buff Form.
