Description
This car really should not be here, but it is and in remarkably sound condition, considering it languished in a car port since 1987.
I am convinced it has never been welded or had paint repairs at any time during its life. That means zero filled repairs.
Imported from France in 1978, it is apparently a 1972 car, uk registered in 1978, on a 78 plate, this can be changed now days, it was how it was done back in the day.
Underneath is unbelievable considering, including the rock solid original sills, there are a couple of small areas that warrant investigation as usual at the rear, but it has an absolute sound structure and has not been repaired ever. The floors are all excellent.
The rear arches are superb, with a sharp lip, one wing has a little hole, doors have some blistering, the very edge of the front lower valance needs a little new metal, but not replacement.
Tailgate is bad, but I have located a replacement, the guy has some doors and skins too, the bonnet is savable.
Showing, which an educated guess says a genuine 61000 km, s, the interior is very good, couple of splits in drivers seat, the rest are excellent, no dash cracking, the rear area was used for storage so needs tidying.
Engine turns, it rolls but binding, tyres are shot, but three hold air still.
Rare car, rare opportunity to get one that has not snapped at the back and been repaired to varying degrees, and this one is not going to.
Sure it is a project, but one nobody has got at before, pretty much a cosmetic/ mechanical restoration, with very little, if any, structural welding required, very little interior work too.
I will add more pictures, more sent by Whatsapp on request, delivery can be arranged. It will be at a show in Hertfordshire tomorrow, Sunday 4th. Finding these is not easy, finding one that has not had structural work and is all original, virtually impossible, check the rear door gaps.
