Welcome to the advert for my 1966 Mustang Coupe in Emberglo with Parchment Pony interior and authentic patina.
The car was imported by Don Scott in 2016 who is well known in the American Car scene. Despite really wanting a Camaro I had a tip-off this was a very original car and I agreed to buy it within minutes of viewing.
As you will be aware, the bodyshell is the foundation of any good classic. Being a dry state car it had little to no corrosion and the patina on the outside was and still is fantastic. The car has plenty of scratches, marks, dents and some historical repairs to the paint, which all add to the visual character and tell its life story.
It was originally a C-code fitted with a 289 and the C4 auto, but all mechanicals were in need of restoration. I have worked as an engineer in the automotive industry for over 25 years and mostly for a famous British manufacturer of sports and GT cars, so my standards and attention to detail are of the highest order.
I have tried to upgrade and improve sympathetically, whilst maintaining the charm and originality on top. The refurbished and new replacement parts have been painted in the appropriate colours and finishes to protect and give the desired aesthetic and finish.
I have used Bilt & Hamber UC clear corrosion protection on the underside to make sure the originality can still be seen. The sills and frame rails have been coated internally with B&H S50 to provide maximum protection to the chassis from corrosion. During the restoration I discovered the original chalk markings on the chassis from the factory. These have been protected and are still visible to show the originality.

I appreciate that this may appear a very high valuation for a Coupe, but the sum of the original car and parts would be far greater than the asking price and not include the care, skill and effort that was put into the refurbishment over a 3 year period.
The car is fun to drive, with bags of character and gets high praise and positive comments wherever I go.
Although I know I will regret selling, I have committed to a new project and funds are required to complete it to a similar high standard. You may ask why go to all of the effort again, but I thoroughly enjoy the process and it matches the enjoyment I gain from driving the end result.
There is no doubt I have missed detail and additional information, but please feel free to call and I will do my best to answer any questions. The car is fun to drive, with bags of character and gets high praise and positive comments wherever I go.
