Description
1948 MG TC MIDGET.
This car was exported to Perth, Australia in 1954, were it stayed until 2011 when it was re-patriated to the U. K.
It had a ground up total restoration, the woodwork was perfect, and is original, as is the body and all mechanicals, although the engine has been rebuilt. The car has never seen the rain, as the previous owner never took it out in the wet weather, as it rarely rains in Perth!
Since re-patriation the car has been dragged into the 21st century by the fitting of a type T9 5 speed gearbox, so the car can keep up with modern traffic. A VW steering box, (helps stop the wandering on the skinny tyres!) electronic ignition, a reliable solid state electronic fuel pump, poly bushes in the suspension with telescopic rear shocks, complete new braking system, new interior, with better leather bucket seats, new trim and carpets, re-wire and LED bulbs to cut down current draw. I have stripped and cleaned the engine bay, and cleaned and sorted the scruffy engine. An electronic fan has been fitted to help cooling, and a heater to keep your feet warm.
The car was re-registered on it’s arrival in the U. K. hence the Scottish Reg. no. I know the original Reg. no. but the DVLA refuse to change it back!
Reduced to sell, to make way for new project.
