Very reluctant sale of Harvest Gold MGBGT 1972 with navy trim recently modified with hydraulic power steering, parabolic rear springs, gaz shocks all round, 15" centre lock alloy wheels with Uniroyal tyres including the spare. Also fitted MGOC supplied leather executive leather seats. Also at the time Revotec electric cooling fan fitted and to improve the handling 1" lowered and castor correction kit fitted. All the original parts removed are in good condition and included in the sale with some spares. I bought this car in 2002 and had it bare metal resprayed and fitted top quality carpets, new seat foams and covers, new door cards and trim, Moto-Lita leather steering wheel and most of the outside body brightwork I replaced as well. All brake parts replaced at the same time. and reconditioned stub axles, since then it has been kept in a Carcoon.
I have a complete history of the car with all the original brochures paint code lists price lists passport etc. All verified by letter from original owner. There is a detailed list of the purchase price and list of every extra available at the time plus two more pages of extras in an accompanying cash book. The car was ziebarted fron new.
That book also contains a detailed running cost account which starts with the cost of the book. This was continued untill 1984 when the car was overhauled by MGB Hive.
In the back of the book is the petrol log detailing date, mileage, fuel station, volume and cost. This has been kept up into a second book and verified mileage is 201, 803 miles.
Bare in mind the rear axel was replaced in 2002 and in 2019 the 3rd ( I have the history of that ) engine was rebored to +20 new camshaft and followers, rocker gear, timing chain and clutch fitted crank reshelled as well. Also I reconditioned gearbox and overdrive fitted so the complete running gear has been renewed.
Insurance agreed value verified by receipts and photos by MGOC is £11000.
I accept that this is not a show car but is rust free and there are a few marks in the paint noticed by the decerning critic, one fault is the new driver door speaker is not working the wire is broken at the door hinge I suspect, but the wire is there to fit. I never switch it on. I'm happy to answer any questions about its history I do have 2 ring binders full of just about every receipt that is relavent although there may be the odd gap before my ownership.
Only selling as my new project is ready and I am moving house and losing garage space.
