Lotus Elan Plus 2 in Cirrus White.
This Lotus Elan Plus 2 is reluctantly for sale after 9 years in my ownership.
This car was restored ground up by a meticulous retired electrical engineer over a period of about 6 years from 2005 - 2011. There are copious notes and all receipts etc. from the restoration on file.
The car has an early Spyder pressed steel subframe, which was returned to Spyder for professional inspection and upgrade as part of the restoration along with all suspension and running gear.
Engine rebuilt and set up at QED during the restoration to Q360 specification.
Full body restoration and respray in lovely cirrus white.
Interior restored to near concours condition with correct materials and all detail complete.
The restoration was completed in 2011 with the recorded mileage at 53, 284 miles. Current recorded mileage is approx 67, 800.
Since I purchased the car in 2015 it has been garaged and maintained to the highest standard with annual servicing at Lakeside Engineering and then Max500 - both renowned Lotus specialists. The car has received regular MoT inspections and current MoT runs to July 2024.
The car is in superb condition and provides a wonderful drive. It will provide many miles of lively classic motoring to the next owner.
Naturally the car would be supplied with the restoration notes, receipts, workshop manuals and reference books.
I purchased this car in 2015 as there was not space in our Lotus Elise for me, my wife and our toddler daughter!
The toddler in now nearly 6ft tall so reluctantly we are not using the car enough, and it is not really suited to crawling through the potholed, speed limited roads of west London so it is time to let it go to somebody who has the time and space to fully enjoy it.
The cirrus white paint, which is in excellent order (although not perfect as the car has a life!) accentuates the beautiful lines of Hickman's masterpiece of 1960's motor styling, and the car is a real thrill to drive with its very lively aceleration and roadholding, along with its wonderful engine note.
The car has been very reliable under my ownership and the specialists who look after it have described it as one of the best Plus 2's that they have come across. It will be a shame to let it go and therefore I will not be accepting low offers!
