Recommissioned Triumph Toledo 1300, bright red with an immaculate black vinyl interior. This vehicle was used for a year (1974) and then hidden away in a garage after the death of its owner in 1975 until it was recomissioned by a retired motor engineer in the Midlands in 2021. Originally an Essex vehicle it has only covered 6004 miles (may rise slightly) since new. This mileage consists of 2965 miles with the first owner, the car was then subject to an RAC warranty inspection and report that identified that the speedometer was 'ticking', BL then exchanged the speedo under warranty, the current mileage on the new speedo is 3059. The RAC report is with the car.
Ziebart protected from new the car bodywork, chassis and interior are in excellent condition and the car is a tribute to its previous owners. It has had 3 owners before me, the initial lady owner, her husband upon her death and the motor engineer in the Midlands, he ran the car for 3 years until my purchase earlier in 2024.
The engine purrs like a sewing machine and will keep up with modern traffic, it always attracts attention when its out. During the recommission process the motor engineer worked tirelessly to carefully remove the black ziebart coating in the engine bay to reveal the beautiful red paint beneath, the engine bay is a joy to behold and was described by one person as looking like its 'crown jewels'. It has the original purchase invoice, the service book, Haynes manual, the RAC report and other period documents for showing.
The chrome work is beautiful with no rust, the back sides of the bumpers have been rust treated and painted to protect.
The recommission process included:
New wheels and tyres (originals + hub caps + radials retained)

This car is a beauty and I'm only selling due to a back injury that means a manual car is out for 12-18 months until I'm sorted. I purchased to use and show, you won't regret viewing this car, it's a beauty. This car was a hidden jewel, locked away in a garage until it was rescued by a retired motor engineer who's craftmanship can be seen in the recommissioning of the vehicle. Lovely red paintwork that attracts many comments, but prepare yourself for when you open the bonnet, people gather around it like flies. The engine bay is straight from the 1970's, everything on show and in excellent condition.
It was my intention during my retirement to use and show this car, however a back injury now means that manual cars are just not for me at the moment. This car needs to be seen at shows and will win prizes just for the fact that its survived for 50 years, its 50th is this coming December.
