A rare Dutch Spitfire 1500 TC in superb original condition. Purchased new by the current owner’s father, so it has remained in the same family since day one. Given its stunningly beautiful condition, the mileage of 23, 740 km is very plausible. Original and unrestored! Includes the original cover for the soft top, tonneau cover and bag with jack and tools. Unique in this condition and competitively priced.
This Spitfire is in a league of its own compared to the average offering on the internet. The car drives exactly as it should, so essentially as good as new. You can restore a classic car to infinity, but this rust-free Triumph has never been restored and the bodywork is partly in its original paintwork. Almost impossible to find in such beautiful original condition these days.
The Triumph was originally delivered in the colour ‘New English White’ and the paintwork still looks very good. It is incredibly smooth and has a deep shine. The paintwork is largely original. Even the original (!) soft top looks very good and the windows are still clear. An extensive Valvoline Tectyl treatment was carried out in the past and, as is often the case, this has helped preserve the car. It is also clear to see under the bonnet that everything is well protected. The boot is completely rust-free, bone dry and fitted with the original spare wheel with a plywood cover plate. The tyre has never been used!
The interior is 100% original and, naturally, in excellent condition. The famous ‘houndstooth’ upholstery looks as good as new, which is to be expected given the low mileage. Naturally, the foam in the seats has become a little thin. The dashboard is intact and hasn’t dried out. Without a doubt, this is a particularly fine example that has always been garaged.
