Current MOT and road-ready2 days after buying this Mini I drove it to Italy and spent the summer touring the lakes and mountains of the north. It was just a joy to drive it on those winding roads and around those hairpin bends with that big sunroof wide open.
After returning to the UK carrying more cheese, wine and olive oil than you’d imagine such a small car could hold it became my everyday vehicle for work. Always reliable it carried me all over the country in my travelling sales role, coping especially well on snow and fitting into the smallest of parking spaces.
It was rust that eventually forced it off the road in 2016. By then the bond between us was so strong I decided to invest substantially in a professional restoration of the Mini to keep it going.
Whilst it will break my heart to part with this little car, life has moved on. It is time now for someone else to enjoy it and I’d love to think it might drive through the Monte Bianco tunnel another time.
