Description
1978 MGB Roadster, Vermillion, MOD, rust protected at 2 years old.
First registered September 1978.
Rust proofed by the second owner in 1980, evidenced by a letter to the new owner (letter will be included in the car's paperwork) when it was sold on – “Immediately on purchase of the car, I had all the hidden sections drilled and filled with countless gallons of wax oil…”. Underside also looks like it had Ziebart treatment from new.
MOT and tax exempt.
I’ve owned the car for over three years, purchased privately in Surrey, lots of service items carried out in that time including new clutch with roller bearing. Car is in good condition and everything works as it should, great fun to drive.

Exchange gearbox fitted in 2012 (at 80, 721 miles).
Resprayed in 2004, photographs included. New black seats fitted at this time.
Mileage is now 89, 301. 10 previous owners.
123 electronic ignition fitted.
New proper canvas/ mohair hood in 2004.
Tonneau included, greatly extends the time you can use the car.
Moto Lita wood/ aluminium steering wheel.
Wheel embellishers.
Good oil pressure, over 50lbs, see photo. Water temperature always steady, see photo, never overheated. Good compression on all cylinders (dry/ wet):-
Cylinder 1-125/ 130 psi
Cylinder 2-115/ 125 psi
Cylinder 3- 135/ 138 psi
Cylinder 4-128/ 136 psi
Rear tyres each have over 5mm tread, fronts have over 6mm.
Stainless steel exhaust, proper MGB exhaust note.
Heritage Trust certificate.
Original handbook included, also Autodata workshop manual, car cover, two sets of keys, V5.
Lots of paperwork going back to 1980, this car has had a lot of love over the years.
New battery, clutch, rear leaf springs, rear lever shocks, both master cylinders, heat shield, water pump and more in the last three years. This car "pops", the Vermillion (orange!) colour really gets noticed. Driving with the hood down, the wood rimmed steering wheel in your hands, listening to that distinct MGB exhaust note, its a lot of fun.
