Description
1961 VW Splitscreen camper in gorgeous Mango Green/ Seagull Grey colours. Fully restored in 2008 including a new 1776cc engine from The Engine Shop, IRS and slightly lowered. From the vehicle ID plate, this was a German built van, exported to the USA and imported in order to restore and use. The vehicle was fully stripped down and all rusted sections replaced professionally and then resprayed. Some photos of the restoration are available. The interior has been fully retrimmed in a vintage style and provides a neat bed for 2 plus a 2 burner stove and cupboards, so all ready to take off into the wilderness. These vans have so much character, they are easy to fall in love with. This one has been lovingly restored and used for many camping trips around the country.
