I've come to the difficult decision to sell 'Ruby', my 1955 MG Magnette ZA, it's not been an easy decision, but with three other classics, one an ongoing project, I'm not able to use it as much as it deserves.
I've carried out a lot work to it over the past 7 years I've owned it, a lot of bodywork repairs, including a full respray in the original Damask Red, it's not concours, but always gets a lot interest when I take it out and about.
It is fitted with a 1622cc B Series engine, which has been rebored and fitted with +0. 040" high compression pistons, MGB camshaft, unleaded/ skimmed head, alternator conversion, electronic ignition, twin HS4 carbs, alloy rocker cover.
A Ford Type 9 5 speed gearbox is fitted along with a 3. 9 diff from a MGB, it has 4 Triumph TR6 wheels fitted with 175/ 65 x 15tyres, it also has a full stainless exhaust system, I've also fitted LED stop/ tail lights, LED front side lights, flashing LEDs in the semaphores, halogen headlamps, a new wiring loom has been fitted.
Priced to sell and to enable the purchase to make further improvements.
Although it's MOT exempt, it is tested until January 28th 2026.
