Description

For Sale is my 1971 Rover P6 V8, in Zircon Blue with black interior.

It has an advisory free MOT until November 2025.

Much has been replaced or repaired in my ownership to get it to MOT standard and beyond, including:
- 4 New Avon Tyres
- Reconditioned Brake Servo
- New electric fuel pump, relocated to the rear
- Original steering wheel
- Replacement dash top
- New battery
- New front seat belts
- Rear static seat belts
plus many other small, and not so small, jobs

Much of this work was carried out by MGBD, the Rover P6 Specialists

It is best described as "honest", with the bodywork and interior showing the patina of its 54 years. The base unit, however, is solid, and the doors click shut as they should. Note, I cannot guarantee that the mileage is genuine.

It recently won the organiser's choice for Best Rover (non-Portfolio model) at the Longships and Octagons show in Derbyshire, although that honour did not come with a trophy or certificate.

Being a British Leyland product of the 1970s, there are a few things that need to be sorted, like the driver's side quaterlight no longer opening, the n/ s rear door push button being finicky, and the speedo not working (It stopped on 17th May on the way home from Brooklands museum. I have a GPS digital speedo which is included).

I have my eye on another car and can't justify having more than 3. I've ticked owning a Rover V8 off my bucket list, so it's time for someone else to take it to the next level.

Please note, it does not have power steering.

The rear seats were replaced by the previous owner with later style ones, which were originally brown, but painted black. In my garage, I have one painted black front seat, and one as yet unpainted brown front seat to match, as well as other random items which will be included in the sale.

I bought this car mainly because of the noise of the V8 and the exhaust on this one is a little louder than most.

I've done getting on for 3000 miles in this car. I've driven it to Cornwall, and to Derbyshire a couple of times, from Bedfordshire, and it takes it all in its stride. The admiring looks you get, and the conversations at petrol stations and shows are all included in the price.
