1964 VW California lhd Splitscreen
Unfortunately due to a change of circumstance at home and am having to put this wonderful van up for sale!
Imported from the California dry state in 2011 this is a lovely solid example! 2 previous uk owners, the last of whom owned it for 11 years!
It underwent full body work repairs and respray in 2015, then In 2016 had a brand new 1500 heritage engine and ancillaries professionally fitted! The rest of the running gear is original (and there really is something to be said for one of these driving the way it was designed to be, I have had a few classic cars now and I honestly I haven’t driven anything that has felt so reliable and comfortable!)
It has a beautiful 7 seater colour matched interior and a rock n roll bed and gas hob/ sink, making it a perfect dual day van and camper!
Body work is in great condition with just the odd chip and a couple of small bubbles at the front.
So It’s not pristine show example, but it is a perfect every day example, ready to be driven away and enjoyed!
I searched for a long time for the right van, and really felt like I’d hit the jackpot finding this one, I have driven it incessantly (including multiple 4 hour round journeys) and it hasn’t missed a beat!
