Description

One of approx 12 cars built for one-make race series by Revival Motorsport Ltd at Mallory Park. Powered by the 4. 2-litre XK six-cylinder engine, race prepared by the renowned Jaguar racing specialist Rob Beere. Triple Weber carbs, ported and flowed head with race camshaft and numerous other modifications it is producing well in excess of 300 BHP. Power from the high-torque XK engine is massive. Its very free revving for a Jaguar engine due to the lightened flywheel etc.
Tremec 5 speed short throw gearbox is a delight.
The tubular space frame chassis from Reynard Racing has independent wishbone suspension all round gives the ‘Revival’ D-type great handling. Body work is GRP composite and interior is high quality red leather. Fully fitted race regulation fire extinguisher system and external ignition cut-off. Baffled racing fuel tank.
Removable roll cage, car cover, colour matched Bell helmet, and carbon timing strut included. This car was raced by Alex Bell on Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donington, Snetterton, Mallory Park and other tracks. Always as a front runner in its class, it achieved an impressive list of results and makes a fabulous fast road, track, race, sprint or hill climb car.

After its racing days it was exported to a private collection in Italy, where amongst other events was used by the Italian edition of Vogue magazine for a photo-shoot featuring various supermodels.

Since being re-imported to the UK in 2015, the car has mainly been used as a road car, with some hill climbs and sprints, where it has been a class winner. It has also visited its spiritual home at classic Le-Mans.

It has an unusual silver with maroon stripe colour scheme, with 72 spoke wires, making it stunning and stand out even amongst other D types.

It always gets huge attention wherever it goes. In my 10 years of ownership it has been totally reliable and a joy to own. It is very fast, sounds amazing, and could be one of the most involving drives money can buy. Owner very very reluctantly selling due to eyesight issues.
