Sales information

The Jaguar D-Type Long Nose “Ecurie Ecosse” is one of the most iconic and coveted racing cars in motorsport history. In 1956, the original achieved a legendary victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by racing legends Ron Flockhart and Ninian Sanderson. Later that same year, it also won the 12 Hours of Reims, cementing the D-Type's reputation as the ultimate endurance racer. With its extended nose for improved aerodynamics and a top speed of over 280 km/ h (175 mph), the D-Type became a true icon – both on and off the track.

In 2017, an original Ecurie Ecosse D-Type Long Nose was auctioned by RM Sotheby's in Monterey for over $21 million – a testament to its rarity and timeless appeal to collectors worldwide.

ABOUT THIS SPECIMEN – AN EXCEPTIONALLY AUTHENTIC AND HIGH-QUALITY RECREATION
This 1962 Jaguar D-Type Long Nose was built by L&R Roadsters – later known as RAM – a renowned British builder of high-quality Cobra replicas. The car is built on a Reynard Racing tubular chassis, which guarantees excellent rigidity and performance. The bodywork is made of high-quality plastics and is entirely to the original specifications and exact dimensions.

The base of the car is a 1962 Jaguar MK10, complete with its original 3. 8-liter inline-six engine—the same engine as in the original D-Types. Power is delivered through a Moss 4-speed gearbox with overdrive, delivering a classic and authentic driving experience. The engine is fed by three 45mm Weber carburetors, professionally rebuilt and tuned by Victor Günther in Germany—a highly regarded specialist among enthusiasts.

The brakes are four inboard discs, and the car runs on original-style D-Type alloy wheels with Dunlop Racing CR65 tires. On the dyno, the car produces approximately 240 hp while weighing just 1000 kg – guaranteeing exhilarating performance and driving pleasure.

Over the past four years, over €48. 000 has been invested in technical improvements and refinements, all carried out with the utmost care and passion by specialists. Recently, a convenient, custom-made two-piece tonneau cover was also manufactured.
