Description
1966 Lancia Fulva Coupé Series 1. This is a very rare UK market RHD Fulvia with only 3 previous owners. In grey (Grigio Tor Di Valle) with Bordeaux interior.
It was supplied by Lancia London on 6/ 06/ 1966 and has covered just 72000 genuine miles from new accompanied by extensive supporting history including its original Buff logbook with entries dating as far back as the 70’s.
It's great fun to drive with a lovely quality of gear-change and very precise handling. There are only about 20 of the Series 1 on the road in the UK (although some of these will be the four door Berlina). Having attended Lancia Club events this is the oldest coupé I've seen and probably the oldest surviving UK market RHD Coupé.
It drives and brakes wonderfully, the 80bhp V4 engine is so lively, you have so much fun at low speeds and It sounds great too! The interior is a lovely place to be, very light and airy for a small car. It also has a great sized boot and useable rear seats.
Overall it is in excellent condition considering it is 57 years old. There are lots of original features, and it has only ever worn the number plate it wears now.
During my ownership it's been maintained by a Lancia Specialist near Reading.
The car was restored in 2014 following a period of long term storage. Over £20, 000 was spent in order to bring the car up to a superb standard. Nearly £5000 spent at Lancia specialist "Omicron".
The restoration consisted of:
New floors
New sills
New inner wings
Various new or refurbished chrome
Full engine service including all fluids and compression check
Upgrade to electronic ignition
Carburettors re-jetted and set up
All new braking components
All new suspension components
All new engine mounts, gearbox mounts and various bushing
Wheels refurbished and finished in the correct "Giallo" Colour
New tyres
New carpets
Various new wiring
Fuel tank restoration
+ countless more things.
It drives wonderfully, the 80bhp V4 engine is so lively and It sounds great too/
The car has been on the road now for 13 years and has been used regularly and well looked after, there are signs of use but the car presents extremely well and has been well received at classic car events.
The interior is original and carries a certain charm that can’t be replicated by an overly restored car. It feels like an extremely good original car that has stood the test of time very well.
It’s a car I would drive absolutely anywhere and have absolute faith in. This Fulvia Coupe stands out from others being a very early car in excellent condition. It's probably the oldest surviving UK market RHD Coupe. It also drives superbly and feels like it has a much bigger engine.
