Description
VW Split Screen13 Window DLX Camper
German built then shipped to Texas then imported to uk. So an American spec bus I have the vw berth certificate to go with the bus. The bus is totally solid and requires no welding it has had cargo floors edges, a rear quarter, and inner and outer sills replaced in the past. Still running the original gear box and a 1641cc twin carb engine which has also got an oil filter+cooler fitted. Been lowered one notch on the rear. The front has a 2inch narrowed beam with an adjusters fitted. Disk brakes on front with braded hoses and a dual circuit master cylinder. Steering box has been replaced with a creative steering rack. New idler pin fitted this winter. The bus drives really nice and stops well. Inside there is a camping interior with full width rock and roll bed newly covered with new foam as wall the interior panels are matching throughout, there’s a front bulk head seating/ storage unit with matching cushions and a fridge underneath which is powered from a leisure battery. Upfront the dlx clock has been converted to a quartz clock, there’s a period stereo which has been converted to blue tooth but there are no speakers fitted a nice job for the new owner if that’s there thing. Also has oil pressure/ temp and a rev counter retro fitted.
The paint has reacted in a few places, when I bought the bus I was going to get them sorted but it didn’t bother me that much so left it.
I have some videos which I can send but as with any old car I would advise coming and having a look.
The bus is located near Clitheroe BB7
Thanks Ric.
