1967 VW Tipo 2 Westfalia. LHD. Techo pop-up.
I have owned the bus since it was imported from Louisiana in 2004. From what I know It was owned by the same family from new. Making me the second owner. Only covered 92k from new!
Pretty much all original as the photos show. Only ever needed a few little welding jobs over the years. It had been painted before import at some point but we wanted it to be top quality so it was bare metalled and resprayed in original colour sometime before 2010. At the same time the rubbers that needed it were replaced with top quality and never leaked since. Interior was refreshed to replace any warped panels and front seats recovered. Rears all still original vinyl coverings.
Replaced pop-top canvas, I worked with a major supplier to create the pattern for the roof seal they still use!
Rock and roll bed and full westy interior in great condition - Original cupboards, tap and westy coobox.
Had another paint refresh and couple of tiny bits welding done this year to bring it back to better than new condition! Westy roof rack rebuilt this year with oiled teak slats. I wanted to pass it on to the next keeper in the best condition possible.
Mechanically original as much as possible. Matching numbers 1500 engine and gearbox. Purrs like a kitten.
Spotless underneath. Reduction boxes rebuilt. New bearings. Brake lines replaced and new master cylinder this year for reliable stopping. Drives lovely.
Maintained to highest quality over the years. Everything regularly greased. Always winter covered.
Been there for holidays, been a wedding car for both my son's and prom car for the granddaughter.
Gets attention everywhere it goes. Not many like this out there not messed with. Needs nothing doing.
Cared for and loved like part of the family!
