Description
Rare and desirable 1975 Datsun B110 1200GX coupe.
Fantastic original unmolested survivor classic which I imported a couple of years ago direct from the ultimate classic car preservation area of Gauteng Province, South Africa. Unlike UK-delivered models of this era that suffered from damp climates and salted winter roads, this vehicle has spent its life in the hot, high-altitude, and bone-dry climate of the South African Highveld. The result is an incredibly rare structurally original and rust-free body and undersides.
The panels are remarkably straight and original with excellent panel gaps - this car has never been restored, never been welded. It is still in original paint and retains all the original spot welds, no rust in any of the arches, sills or undersides. A couple of very minor dents/ imperfections as to be expected on an original 50 year old car which just add to the patina and originality which can't be replicated. There is a small crack in the lower windscreen on passenger side.
Just one lady owner in SA from new who only ever drove it to work and occasionally to the shops which accounts for the low mileage of just 67, 000 miles (107, 000km).
Mechanically the car is in excellent running and driving condition with a super smooth quiet engine. The GX model was the top of the range sports model with twin Hitachi SU carbs giving lively performance for the engine size back in the day. New tyres have been fitted all round.
A different and very useable classic that attracts admiration at any general classic or specialist Japanese meet.
