The Appeal
Built for only 3 years from 1956 to 1959, the second of the ‘Big Healeys’ was a powerful roadster for its time - and still a highly characterful drive nearly seventy years later. The hood scoop, the wavy grille and the temperamental nature made them sporty but affable - and still a much-beloved piece of British automotive history.
This example, based in Denmark, is presented in fine pedigree - still carrying its original engine, beautifully presented, and in a highly desirable colour scheme.

Car indicates 81,028 miles on a five-figure odometer
The vendor believes this is the genuine mileage
However, as the car carries a five-figure odometer, we can’t verify this
Bedecked in a handsome array of vinyl and chrome, the cabin of this 100-6 is a time capsule to the golden age of the British Roadster. While it’s not the most luxurious or well-appointed cabin by modern standards, it’s certainly a charming one.
Everything here looks to be in fine fettle, with only slight spots of dust in the creasing of the rear seats. There are no rips or tears, which extends to the matching door cards and lining. The carpets look to be in fine order with no issues we can spot.
The dashboard is a compact little array of Smiths dials, all clean and easy to read, and is centred with a charming period steering wheel, which completes the charming 50s-era milieu. There are no technical faults we’ve been informed of, and it really does look like a great place for any driver to be.
With its distinctive shape, that wavy grille and stylish hood scoop, the 100-6 is an icon of 1950s design that balances sporty styling with a distinctly British identity. The bodywork on this one looks to be in fine fettle, with no dents or dings we can spot.
The paintwork carries only the gentlest wear close to the road surface, which does nothing to detract from appearances. The chromework wears the very gentlest signs of wear, as does the distinctive Austin-Healey branding, while the glasswork and lenses are all clean, bright and well-presented.
The car is sat on its original wire-spoke wheels, which really look the part, and are shod in a full set of clean Firestone tyres, which look to be in good shape throughout.
The car’s condition underneath is rather remarkable for a British car of this vintage, with the exhaust carrying some surface-level wear, but the chassis itself showing in superb order, free of any major corrosion, perforation or damage we can highlight.
Popping open the hood of the 100-6 reveals an obviously cossetted, beautifully presented Austin C-Series engine. It’s clean, nicely presented and tidy, with no clear signs of corrosion, leaks or wear that we can discern.
The car is reportedly starting well and still provides a lovely I6 exhaust note, with no reported mechanical issues. The recent Technical Inspection seems to support the car’s superb mechanical condition.
Highly endearing, coated in period charm and finished in a highly desirable colour scheme, this is a superb example of the 100-6. We expect it’ll generate great interest - so throw your hat into the ring before it’s gone for good!
