Topping out at 3.4-litres in top spec, Jaguar never fitted its 3.8-litre engine to the Mk1 saloon. But this 1959 example has received just that: a Jaguar S-Type unit complemented by an all-synchro four-speed manual/overdrive gearbox and upgrades including a limited-slip rear axle, uprated servo, Harvey Bailey front springs and anti-roll bar, and a high-torque starter motor. It's a bit of a sleeper, and we like the subtle nods to the modifications, with discreet 3.8-litre badging and a Moto Lita sports steering wheel.  You'll note that this car features a full-length sunroof - a nice feature for those sunny days, flooding light and fresh air into that walnut and leather-laden cabin.

Our Jag is also a bit of a celebrity as the young Morse's car in the 2012 pilot of Endeavour, driven by Shaun Evans. Morse evidently favoured a little more power in his younger days before switching to the comparatively sedate 2.4-litre Mk2!

UFF 325 was restored by a previous owner over many years, commencing in 1994. As the photographs attest, the work was evidently carried out to a high standard and is holding up very well. The cabin was re-trimmed in red leather, the woodwork repolished, and the steel wheels replaced with the current wire wheels. It was also later used for wedding hire and featured in the October 2022 edition of Octane magazine.
