Overview
The 356 SC represents the pinnacle of the original lineage of Porsche sports cars. The most powerful and most accomplished version of the 356, it came factory-equipped with disc brakes and an engine producing 95 hp. It remains one of the most sought-after air-cooled Porsches. Examples built to the Outlaw philosophy, which combine the model's iconic silhouette with performance upgrades and bespoke details, attract particular attention.
This 1964 example has undergone a complete restoration in the Outlaw style. The shell was stripped to bare metal, with replacement of the floor pan, door pillars, longitudinal chassis rails, door skins and battery tray, before receiving fresh paint in Togo Brown.
The engine has been rebuilt with a 1,720 cc Big Bore kit and a balanced crankshaft. It is paired with a rebuilt four-speed manual gearbox. Fuchs wheels and a Carrera-style engine lid complete the Outlaw look, while a bespoke roll bar adds a sporty touch to the cabin, trimmed in full-grain caramel leather.
The restoration is documented with photographs, and the car comes with an expert appraisal and an inspection carried out by a specialist. Matching numbers are noted. The seller describes the bodywork, paint and mechanicals as first-rate. With only 354 km covered since the work was completed, the engine is still in its running-in period.
