The Appeal
Either Alfa’s designers saw this car, or they drew on its original builder’s influences, because the similarities between the rear-end design of this low-drag racer and the recently revealed CuoreRosso are striking. That cam tail look is just one aspect of what is, by any measure, one of the most striking Alfas we’ve seen in a long time.
The car began life as a 1300GT Giulia before being rebodied early on as a low-drag alloy racer. The current keeper acquired it in Belgium around 10 years ago, choosing to compete it and improve it rather than restore it. The result is a striking, lightweight machine that sits outside the usual Alfa Romeo canon.
The car is track-ready, including what we are told is a UK-legal roll cage, and features a highly modified 1,962cc Alfa Romeo twin cam engine. The vendor describes it as extremely quick and stable on track, and fast and competitive in the right hands. Now road-registered in the UK, this car can be driven to a circuit, raced hard, and driven home again. A versatile and wholly individual piece of Alfa Romeo history.
The vendor says:
“Totally unique part of Alfa Romeo history. Extremely quick and stable racing car, but can be driven on public roads. Turns heads all the time! “

The description in advert says that the car is now UK registered having been previously registered in Belgium. yet the V5 says it was registered here in 1967. There is usually a bite on the front of a V5 if a car has been imported. Has this V5 always belonged to this car? Do the engine and chassis numbers on the V5 car match those on the car?

So, was it originally registered in the U.K. in 1967?
