The Appeal

The final Series III E-Type roadster is a classic convertible with few obvious rivals. No car then, perhaps even now, has quite captured its long, low, louche, effortless and utterly stylish vibe. Good examples make excellent touring cars and tend to be more usable than the earlier cars with their more cramped cabins.

This 1974 RHD OTS is one of the nicest we’ve seen in a long while. It has a fascinating history: the current keeper’s father bought it in the 1980s, and it covered just 7,000 miles over the intervening four decades. It is a UK car that has spent time in Sweden, including a high-end repaint there in the current Signal Red in 1990.

The large history file dates back to the 1980s and includes details of that respray plus a £10,000 mechanical recommissioning in 2019. It was serviced and tuned prior to sale in July 2026. The car has covered few miles since then. Nicely detailed with chrome wires and features like a classic radio and factory leather-rimmed wheel, this very well-presented V12 automatic would make a great show or touring car.

This car left the factory in British Racing Green, but now sports Signal Red, which works well with the original Cinnamon leather interior. We are told the respray was completed by a well-known Swedish painter, as shown by the quality and durability of the finish.

The interior is also very well kept, just some light piping wear to note on the seats. The dashboard, carpets, and door cards are generally free of the wear typical of E-Types of this era.

These cars are perfect for touring, offering relaxed and effortless progress. The car has covered only 7,000 miles since it was bought in the 1980s. We’re told that £10,000 was spent on recommissioning in 2019. More recently, in July 2026, the car was serviced and tuned.
