The Appeal
The Fiat Dino was born of opportunity. Ferrari needed Fiat to build its new Dino engine to reach homologation volumes. Fiat agreed, but only if it could use the motor in its own car.
The Dino Spider and Coupe were born. They looked quite different, the coupe’s sleek styling penned by Giugiaro for Bertone. All were built alongside Ferrari’s own 246 Dino at Maranello. Later cars got the larger 2.4litre version of the engine. These were rarified and expensive GT cars and just 2,398 2.4 coupes were sold.
This very original and beautifully presented ‘72 car is classically finished in sports car red. Just released from a private Italian classic car collection it is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well maintained example of one of these rare and highly regarded thoroughbred sports cars.
