We are delighted to be able to offer what must now be one of the very best remaining examples of these gorgeous hand-made Italian Classics.
Bimota’s first BMW-powered motorcycle, the BB1 Supermono was also the first Bimota to be powered by a single-cylinder motor. In total, 524 were sold – 376 as the Supermono you see here in red & grey two tone and another 148 Supermono Bipostos in dark blue.
The aluminum tube frame was paired with Paioli suspension, Brembo brakes, a selection of then exotic carbon fibre pieces, a fuel tank under the engine, and Marchesini wheels. The Rotax built motor was taken from the BMW F650 and it was good for 48 horsepower.
Our bike was supplied new in the UK in early 1998 and has clearly led a pampered life. This is reflected by its excellent condition, commensurate with a mileage of less than 5, 000 (7, 900 kms) believed to be correct and evidenced by a number of old MOT’s held on file.
Presented today in excellent all round condition this affordable and rare piece of Italian exotica, complete with original handbook and spare key, is ready to be enjoyed by its next enthusiast owner.
