Nova Sport For Sale
For very reluctant sale Original Vauxhall Nova Sport. One if only 502 made and 45 left. This Holomigation rally special was the idea of GM and Irmscher to win the very competitive 1300cc rally class in 1985 and did do that in great style.
B555 HVK is a very well known car in the northeast of England and coming from its supplying Dealer Wilis Of Alnwick got the name on the motor clubs in that area as the Wilis Of Alnwick Sport. The dealers changed owners a few times since from Aln Motor Company and now still in the area but not the same building Tustain Motors. A man called Kieth put the decals on it back in 1985 and still still working for them now as Manager of the company. The Director of the company in 1985 used this car as his demo to and I was told he enjoyed it so much he didn’t want to give it back after driving one of these 1300cc rally inspired hot hatch’s I can certainly see why. I’ve owned this car for 7 years and enjoyed every minute of it but have a large collection and can’t drive them all at ones and would like someone to enjoy it as much as I have.
This car has had 5 owners from new and all have been in the Northumberland area all its life.
It’s been maintained very well and is totally stock apart from the AST2 fast road camshaft optional extra at the time pushing the BHP from 84 to 91 and a lot more fun to drive. The car was Set up on a rolling road at Bogg Brothers and runs and drives faultlessly as it should. I have attended a lot of event as since purchasing 555 Shows meeting and events and the car was part of the 30th Anniversary of the Sport in 2015 at billing which Our club Just Opel Vauxhall managed to organise 29 sport to be there from all over the country. This was a great achievement and such and amazing thing to be a part of.
Please remember this Nova Sport is a 33 year old car it’s just been MOT’d has got a clean bill of health. I have averaged about 300 mile per year and it’s service every year regardless of mileage.
The Nova Sport kit was Suplies in the boot consisting of twin 40 Weber carbs Irmscher air box alternator lowing bracket throttle cable Ashley sports exhaust Bilstien B6 Suspension and a few other components to turn this SR based Nova into a rip snorting revving rally winner. B555 is a early registered Sport and is SR on the log book as the early ones where later to be base or Sport. This is an Original Shell which has had repair panels in the past as they all had. Is also a numbers matching engine which is hard to come by in this model as most where driving hard from the showroom as what they where built for.
Couple of bad points are drivers seat bolster is worn as they all were and both doors are starting to go on the bottom.
It’s got a large history folder with old mots not all but a few and record of what’s been done to it in the past. As I’ve said previously this is a 33year old car unrestored but in great usable condition would need taxed and insured then you will be ready for the smiles per miles as I get every time I drive it.

There isn’t one of these for sale at the minute I I’ve been into these cars for 25 years I know what the last one sold for genuinely and I’m not talking about the 65k one on eBay
