For sale is my Manta Mirage GT, as produced by the LoVette brothers in California during the 1970’s and early 1980’s. I imported this example from California last year as I have always wanted one and this one had been previously completely rebuilt but to original spec, not chopped about like other examples that occasionally pop up for sale in the USA.
It is fully UK road legal, registered on a 1966 plate so tax and MOT exempt (although it is currently MOT’d). Wiper, washer, hazards, lights, reversing light etc all working. Believed to be the only one on the road in the UK.
It is fun and quick ! Fully on the button and ready to go, I have damaged my back and realistically can’t use it properly this year. It is surprisingly easy to drive on the dreadful roads of Kent, doesn’t bottom out and the suspension is firm but comfortable. It doesn’t like speed ramps, and I just fit in at 6 foot (there are no perspex windows otherwise I wouldn’t).
Smooth torquey engine and excellent handling, and makes a fine noise. The bodywork is in excellent condition for the age, but the paint is patchy in places and there are a few bit of crazing on the bodywork. It would be easy to repaint (and there are cans of spray paint in the spares package) but I like the ‘fresh from the Can Am race’ look. The tyres are rather old but fine for what I use it for.
Boxes of spares, including much paperwork and original Manta brochures, build spec etc etc.

Chevrolet LT1 V8 LT1 350 ci rebuilt with marine cam running the opposite direction allows for the transmissions to be mounted right side up and gears match up running the way it was designed to.
CIDCO GM Muncie (Corvair 4 Speed modified) with Corvair transaxle previously rebuilt with all best avail parts, street racing tires, engine dyno'd by JBA racing in San Diego. 220 hp and 350 fp torque.

Brake lines with stainless braded lines with new clutch line from master cylinder including adjustable proportioning valve and pressure valves
Corvette close mesh radiator with new electric thermostatically controlled fan, including bleeder valve on top of radiator tank to purge air
VW Ghia front suspension with discs, rebuilt during the last MOT
