Description
A well known car at Classic and Historic shows, was in regular use till 2002.
Recently restored, this Equipe is a GT4s arguablly the best looking variant. Very smart with respectable performance, this one also features rebuilt 1300 Spitfire spec engine, 3rail C/ R gear box, rebuilt all new a 'polly bushed' front suspension, steering, 'Canley' spring on rear etc. etc. Good chassis solid lovely recently repainted body with super interior trim. Some parts like windscreen a rear window require fitting. Rolling but not quite running, well over 95% done.
Not finished because the then owner suffered a burglary, all his workshop tools and a few loose parts of the Equipe were stolen; He subsequently lost interest in finishing the restoration.
I bought it about 18 months ago with intention of finishing it for my own use. A change in circumstances now means I am unable complete and get it on the road.
The handfull of parts to complete it are all readily available Triumph Spitfire/ Herald items, Main parts being carbs, dizzy, steering wheel, dash panel, FaR window rubbers (actual glass is with car)and small sundry bits. Front disc brakes need rebuild. Tyres are great.
All correctly registered at DVLA and in my name. Currently on SORN. Tax exempt-Free road tax, Valuable registration number.
This is NOT one of those long forgotten worn out relics recently dragged out of a shed and given a quick make over.
This is a good example (potential to be show car) of a rare and inexpensive to run very usable classic car investment.
Located Sussex RH16; Rolling but not running, you need trailer or transporter to collect it.
Best way of making initial contact is by email. May consider sensible offer if it includes collection within a day or two of accepting such an offer.
