For personal reasons I’ve decided to let my 140 Roadsport SV go. The car has covered just 5100 miles and had only two owners from new.
As you can see the car really is in truly excellent cherished condition throughout. It has not had any paintwork or damage and as you would expect has been garaged from day one. The interior is exceptional.
My Caterham is finished in Lotus racing or “Prisoner” colour scheme which is exactly what I wanted. It certainly turns heads. Basically it's a facsimile of a 60’s sports car but without the maintenance and constant fettling that comes with an old machine.
The car was very well specced when new with the 1. 8 140 bhp K series. The K series really suits the car well being a light power unit producing plenty of power and torque for the road. I goes very well! I also specifically wanted the SV body which provides ample room for touring and provides a much more comfortable cockpit for the road. With the SV pack you also get a bigger fuel tank and wide track Bilstein suspension. The SV option was and still is an expensive tick in the box. The original purchase paperwork and receipt is present along with two sets of keys, all bills/ books/ folders and history/ MOT's from new. The car has been totally over-serviced every year.
This factory built car was optioned from new with a full tonneau, a half hood, spare wheel, padded armrests, tubular hood bag, starter button, heater, full carpets, fitted mats, leather seats, semi harnesses and a 12v power socket. I like to drive the car sans doors so installed a pair or Raceline mirrors on the windscreen side uprights. Given the price of a new car to this spec (today circa £35K) I believe this machine represents fine value.
I had a new cam belt fitted last month for peace of mind. The car needs nothing save spirited driving!
Plate is not included. The car is currently garaged in my underground car park in London W11. Any inspection is more than welcome.
