Description
I have owned this rare and unique car for 28 years (2nd owner). It is a distinctive Australian-built road car homologated for Group A racing, built by Holden Special Vehicles, which was 50% owned by Tom Walkinshaw's TWR Group (UK) and 50% by GM-Holden in Australia. TWR did the wind tunnel testing of the unique body style in the UK, hence the common nickname of "The Walkinshaw". Of the original 750 built, only around 300 are left, making it an extraordinary vehicle. From the factory, it was powered by a Holden 5. 0 Lt EFI V8 with special twin throttle body induction and a Borg Warner T5-G 5-sp gearbox sourced by GM from the 1988 Corvette and a BW LS Diff. Power from the factory was 180 Kw or 240 HP with 380 Nm or 285 Ftlb torque. It came with many luxury features, too exhaustive to list here, but I can provide these on request.
This car has been meticulously, carefully and lovingly restored to original factory specifications (except for the front seats which are Recaro sports seats trimmed in original tweed and velour), and is a collectors appreciating asset in Australia. Price when new was AUD$47, 500 and now range from AUD$150, 000 to AUD$250, 000.
This is your opportunity to own a rare piece of Australian motoring history, and probably be the only owner with one in the UK. This car won the famous Bathurst 1000 in 1990, driven by UK driver, Win Percy.
These cars attract a lot of attention wherever they are seen and would be a real hit in the UK. This car is located in Sydney and all costs associated with shipping to the UK would be new owner's responsibility.
I am able to provide much more information and answer any questions you may have. Please contact me, Brett, directly via email, as provided.
Please do not call the mobile number advertised rather, email me directly, as I am the owner of the car and able to answer all questions pertaining to the vehicle. Thank you.
