For sale is a 125cc 1988 Cagiva Freccia C12R.
This is a 125cc two-stroke with a seven-speed gearbox – the same engine fitted to the earliest Cagiva Mitos – putting out 29BHP. Its unique power band, thanks to the factory power valve, makes it bags of fun to ride. It was said to give many 250s a run for their money in its day!
The bike has done 24, 499 miles (39, 472 kilometres – please ignore the automatically generated text) and has always been reliable. It starts on the button and runs well. It has been garaged for about two years now, though I have not been able to get it MoTed due to the current situation. Its spec is great: Brembo discs and callipers (four-piston front, one rear), Brembo wheels, 28mm Dell’Orto carb, and Marzocchi forks and shocks. It behaves like a much bigger bike, but is still light and agile on the road. The tyres have useable tread but the rear tyre is showing some cracking on the side walls.
I have had the body panels professionally restored and repainted in the famed ‘Lucky Explorer’ colour scheme (like the C12R Competizione model), but I chose not to have the livery on as I liked it without. It was designed by the same designer as the Ducati Paso and it really shows. It’s a very unique bike and the paintwork has been restored well. One of these has recently been advertised in the UK for £4, 250!
I have had this bike for nearly ten years now and reluctantly have to sell as my personal circumstances have changed. This was my first ‘proper’ bike and I have had huge amounts of fun with it. I would love for it to go to a good home.
