Triumph Herald 13/ 60 – Superb/ Utterly Original
The Triumph Herald was launched in 1959 and, like the Spitfire, was designed by Giovanni Michelotti. The car was an instant success with stunning styling, willing 948cc engine, excellent manoeuvrability and, for the day, high levels of comfort in a small family car. The final iteration of the model was the 13/ 60 with Vitesse style bonnet, improved performance and higher levels of comfort. Production final ceased in 1970 (The Herald out lasted the Triumph 1300 introduced to replace it) based on the labour intensive production meaning every car was sold at a loss.
Milestones are delighted to offer a truly remarkable example of the 13/ 60. The car has covered a warranted 34, 000 from new and has never been restored or even welded. Owned by the same family for 37 years (Husband/ Wife/ Nephew) and then four super fastidious owners the car is the best Herald we have ever seen – the pictures speak for car.
On the road the car starts instantly and drives without fault comfortably coping with modern road condition. The original Wedgewood Blue paintwork is super sharp with no evidence of corrosion and the interior looks like it has only just left the factory – it is like stepping back in time
The interesting fully researched history of the cars life (including pictures of the original owners wedding), Heritage Certificate, MOT’s, tax discs, lots of receipts, original handbook etc. is one of the most comprehensive you could wish to find.
Heralds make a superb choice as a starter classic and this is one of the best that you could wish to find. Ready to use, enjoy and win prizes we expect this remarkable car to find an appreciative new owner very quickly.
