Description
This Triumph TR3 - Chassis No: TS/ 21955 and Engine No: TS/ 22372-E is an original UK RHD car and according to the BMIHT Heritage Certificate it was built in Coventry on 13th September 1957 and first registered with SJF 444 in Leicester on 6th February 1968.
There is a DVLA history print out showing all the owners that the car has had over the years, but little is known of its early history until it was purchased by the very well known Triumph TR man Ken Mumford in September 1986.
Ken undertook a body-off chassis restoration of the car and upon completion it was displayed on the TR Register stand at the Practical Classic's Car Show in 1992 and won the Best car of the Show award. (News cutting in the file)
Ken sold the car to a Neil Hamilton through Classic Chrome in 1993 and we sold the car on for him in April 1995 to a local lady when it had covered just 4, 988 miles since the rebuild. Since then the car has had a further 4 owners with the current owner having purchased the car in May 2017.
The car is finished in Signal Red with Black trim piped in White and has full Black weather equipment including side screens, Black carpets, a completely rebuilt 'Unleaded' 2138cc Engine and Overdrive Gearbox (invoice for £15, 741 in October 2019) and new Stove Enamelled Wire Wheels with new Pirelli Tyres.
There is a good history file with the car and MOT Certificates dating from its first after the rebuild in March 1992 when the speedometer was 00010 it has now only covered 14, 924 miles since the completion of the rebuild back in 1992, but less than 500 miles on the rebuilt engine!
This car really is still in exceptional condition and drives beautifully and needs nothing doing it to it! It would be a great addition to any car collection and perfect for car rallies and continental touring.
