The Rover P4 was produced from 1948 until 1964. It’s easy to forget how the startlingly modern styling offended some conservative tastes, at launch. The first cars were 75’s, followed by the Rover 60 and 95 in 1953. In 1954 the cars were re-styled, the 75 losing its famous “Cyclops” front light, then in 1954 the 75’s 6 cylinder engine was enlarged to 2230cc. Testimony to the devotion of Rover buyers meant that the car remained in production for a full six years after the launch of the P5.
This car is a 1955 Rover 75 in green with a grey interior. It presents in beautiful order and was given a comprehensive cosmetic restoration plus various mechanical jobs in 2012 including a high quality re-paint and interior re-trim. The underside and structure are in excellent order and the under-bonnet presents very well.
This car came to us as a part exchange on a newer classic and we have carried out some minor re-furbishment jobs after a period of little use followed by some test miles. It is running and driving beautifully with working over-drive and is now ready for the road.
This P4 is a rare model in excellent condition and offers stylish motoring for the price of a Morris Minor. Ready to use and great value for money. The original registration number is with the car and fully transferable.
