Beschreibung
Mitsuoka Le-Seyde.
Only 15, 250 miles from new.
Made in Japan in 1991, so is right hand drive, reliable, and very easy to maintain.
It is based on a Nissan 200SX / Silvia. Mitsuoka took an all new car, removed the body, stretched the Nissan chassis, and fitted a new body. Back in 1991 it was a very rare and expensive car in Japan, and is even rarer today.
Back in 1991 it was dubbed by the motoring press as the most outlandish car ever made, and that mantle still holds true today. It is very long at 17' 3", and very low, but it still handles brilliantly on swooping country roads.
It has a non-turbo 1800cc Nissan twin cam engine and an automatic gearbox with overdrive. It has done 15, 250 miles, starts, drives and stops just like a new car, and returns around 38MPG on a run.
The car has a head-up display, and a reversing camera.
All mechanical and electrical parts are Nissan, and so are easy to find.
This car is not for the shy and retiring. As I drive down the road people are snapping it on their camera phones, and if I park up I always return to a crowd around it. I have taken it to many classic car shows, and it has always been well received. I even went to a supercar show, where there were lines of Lamborghinis, Ferraris and even a Zonda - and this car was the most photographed by a mile! It was also displayed at the Classic Le Mans in 2014, with the same level of interest.
Although neo-classic in its appearance, it is a very modern car underneath its outlandish exterior. It has electric windows, sunroof and mirrors, power-assisted steering, and air conditioning. Current MOT with no advisories.
