An enormously sexy Swedish post van. It has a glassfibre body and DAF 44 mechanicals – thus a lovely 850cc flat-twin engine and the most straightforward variant of DAF’s magnificent Variomatic ‘rubber band’ transmission. This should make it reasonably nippy, I think… and enjoyably drifty on wet roads.
It’s complete but partially disassembled. The chassis will need a little welding, but it’s of girder-like construction and is generally sound. The original engine’s in bits, but it comes with two spares. It also comes with a complete spare Variomatic transmission unit in unusually good condition, plus a selection of other bits-and-pieces.
The ‘Postman Pat’s hearse’ black paint is non-original. Like many cars, it should be painted yellow. Unlike many cars, though, it was originally painted yellow.
It’s Swedish registered. A NOVA declaration has been completed.
Mechanical parts are almost all DAF 44, so are readily available.
