My 2007 Smart For Two “Pulse” is for sale. Bought from the first mature owner in early 2018 with just 18, 000 miles and a full Mercedes Smart Service History, it now has approximately 36, 500 miles recorded which is extremely low for the year.
The car is in excellent all-round condition, with Black bodywork and Black Tridion plus a Dark Blue interior and dash. Being the favoured “Pulse” model it has the essential steering wheel paddleshift (don’t buy a Smart without this!), factory wide wheels with Brabus rear arch lips, sports steering wheel, dash-mounted clock & tachometer, as well as the panoramic glass roof with sliding sunblind plus electric windows & mirrors and the original Grundig Stereo with a cable now fitted to enable playing music etc from your iPhone.
As something of a 450 enthusiast I decided to have my own sensible modifications to improve the driving experience done, rather than buying a Brabus. I had renowned Smart experts S2Smarts in Watford fit their recommended Bilstein Suspension with Apex lowering springs. They also re-mapped it and added a performance air filter which gives it plenty of turbocharged torque and a healthy amount of power (about 84bhp I think), making it so much more flexible and nicer to drive without compromising reliability and they have also serviced it since. The ride is harder than standard but the handling and steering much improved. The 450 model has a 6-speed sequential gearbox and no power steering (very light to steer), which also suits the enthusiast driver.
Other neat touches include the rare “S-Mann” air intake as seen in the pics, plus it has Smart rubber car mats and factory load cover. It also has recent new Toyo Tyres all round in standard sizes and as far as I am concerned the car needs nothing at all.
The simple modifications result in a somewhat rapid little car which has been great fun and very practical indeed on my 20 mile each-way commute and has been totally reliable. With kids now learning to drive it is however one too many vehicles for the family fleet, so sadly needs to go. I have had it serviced as necessary by S2Smarts with the last at around 32, 250 miles a year ago, so another is not needed for some time.
The MOT runs out January 21 and lockdown has stoped me renewing it yet, but I will put a new one on before collection (or knock £60 off for you to do it). Tax is very cheap at £30 for a year. You can expect 40-45mpg+/- in normal town driving, with all the other benefits of a Smart car.
