According to the La Sagrera factory in Barcelona, this Hispano Suiza, chassis 8101 was produced there in 1929; the car test was conducted in April 1929
At the beginning of the 80s Hispano 8101 was found by Mr. Emilio Fernández Arias at the Madrid School of Agricultural Engineers workshops. It lacked a body, but the chassis and mechanical components were in perfect condition because it had been restored with new original parts by its current owner, Mr. Enrique Jiménez Girón, who had been a teacher at that school and was now retired. Mr. Emilio Fernández purchased the car from Mr. Jiménez and took it to his workshop in Canillas street, Madrid. Here the restoration was completed, and a new body was installed. The body was made as a replica of an original T49 with extreme care to keep all production methods used in the factory at that period.
The chassis and the engine are matching numbers and original to the car.
Emilio Polo featured the car in one of his books. It was also featured in the Spanish film Belle Epoque
