The Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth is one of the most iconic homologation specials, and this 1987 example with a mere 23k miles is nothing short of perfect.
Originally supplied to Ford Motor Werke in Cologne, Germany, this is car 007 out of the 500 made and, after being used as a promotional car, was later owned by renowned F1 talent manager, Werner Heinz.
The car still looks as purposeful today as it did in period and presents extremely well in its black colour scheme, correct refurbished alloy wheels and infamous ‘whale tale’ spoiler.
In addition to some recent cosmetic work to bring the car up to standard, including a fresh coat of paint to repair storage marks as well a replacement dashboard in place of the cracked original one, the car has also benefitted from having upgraded Spax dampers fitted all around as well as a stainless steel exhaust system.
The original seats, steering wheel and gear knob are all excellent, as you would expect from a car with this mileage, while the original radio is also still present.
With its multitude of race inspired tuning upgrades over the original RS Cosworth, this RS500 performs just as you hope it would with the legendary turbo-charged Cosworth engine and 5 speed gearbox.
This fast Ford is now a bona fide collectable car with a documented and intriguing provenance that would fit straight into any collection.
Car is located in Ireland but is UK registered.
