Description
BMW built the M635CSI from 1983 – 1989. It was built on the E24 platform, which was BMWs grand tourer coupe for 13 years, replacing the E9. The M version was BMWs second true M car, after the M1, and featured their famous M88 straight six engine.
Just 522 right hand drive examples were built, and this example was delivered new on the 17th January 1986 by BMW main dealer MLG of Chiswick to Jardine Thompson Graham Ltd.
The Recaro sport seats are trimmed in optional and very rare Siam Grey Buffalo hide, which is an extremely hard wearing leather, and is in great condition with lovely patina, no excessive wear, and intact bolsters. This Buffalo leather which was an expensive option is extended to the front and rear doorcards, which are also in excellent condition, as are all the grey carpets with brand new high quality overmats. All electrics work perfectly.
The car is fitted with correct optional 17 inch cross spoke split rim BBS alloy wheels, in excellent condition, with nearly new Dunlop tyres.
The car has benefitted from the fitting of bigger ventilated front discs and larger high spec callipers, stopping the car more effectively than the standard set up, which was always reckoned to be its weakest point.
The car has a full and detailed service history, and exceptionally low mileage of 64, 000 – backed up with a file of service documents, receipts and old M. O. Ts including stamped up books, the original sales brochure and other interesting articles. The car has been serviced by main BMW dealers up to 51, 000 miles, and by the same BMW independent specialist three times in the last 10, 000 miles – the last being less than 100 miles ago at Munich Legends.
