Chassis Number: 8187859
- Highly original example in fine overall order
- Accompanied by an extensive history file
Introduced in 1976, BMW’s elegant E24 6 Series established itself as one of the defining GT cars of its era. Combining the marque’s sporting engineering with the refinement and comfort expected of a luxury coupé, the range was distinguished by its purposeful proportions, long bonnet and characteristic ‘Shark-Nose’ front-end treatment. The 635 CSi mated BMW’s iconic M30 straight-six in 3. 5L guise to a 4-Speed switchable automatic gearbox delivering effortless performance with the refinement that made the model such a capable long-distance companion.
First registered in March 1988, this 635 CSi is an attractive and notably original example. Finished in BMW Schwarz (086), its deep-gloss black paintwork is complemented by a particularly handsome light tan leather interior. The specification includes a factory-fitted electric sunroof and the original 15-inch Style 5 cross-spoke light alloy wheels. The car presents in very smart order throughout, with an interior that retains its original character and an exterior that displays the E24's unmistakable lines to excellent effect. Now showing just over 100, 000 miles on the odometer, it is clear the car has received fastidious care throughout its life. it is accompanied by a substantial history file, including its original book pack, stamped service book and supporting documentation recording diligent maintenance over the course of its life.
Our vendor advises that the car drives particularly well, with a smooth and composed manner. Its largely original specification, comprehensive history and evidently careful ownership make this an increasingly difficult type of 635 CSi to find.
A handsome and highly desirable example of BMW’s classic grand touring coupé, this 635 CSi offers the opportunity to acquire a well-preserved and highly original E24, retaining the poise and character that have made the original 6-series such an enduring favourite among BMW enthusiasts.
