The "Crossblade" was certainly the most incredible, among the derivatives of the Smart Fortwo first series, for its open and non-resealable bodywork (as is the case in the Smart Cabrio), for the absence of a real windshield, a real rear window and two real doors, replaced by two bars to ensure the safety of the occupants.
Other distinctive signs can be found in the dedicated 16-inch wheels and bumpers, also with an original design.
This version of the Smart was developed by the German companies Bertrandt AG and Binz.
The engine is a 598 cc 3-cylinder turbo engine with a maximum power of 71 hp.
The very first example of the Crossblade was bought by pop singer Robbie Williams, who later sold it at auction for a price of € 51, 050 for charitable purposes.
