Description

Triumph Roadster 1800, must be one of the earliest surviving, registered 17/ 10/ 1946, chassis number TRD236.

This car is for restoration and is not running.

The following work having been completed to a high standard, chassis professionally repaired, new jacking points, sand blasted, primed and painted, all spring bushes replaced, springs re-set and painted, all suspension bushes and king pins replaced, wheels blasted and painted, 5 new tyres, new brake shoes, re-built wheel cylinders with new rubber seals, new flexible hoses, shock absorbers rebuilt (need oil and fitting). The rear axle overhauled, sand blasted and fitted. The chassis therefore is in rolling condition needing the brake and fuel lines fitting (supplied).

The engine and gearbox is complete but has not been worked on.

The body stripped to bare metal.

The following body panels have been hand made NEW at great expense and are included as are the original panels used as a pattern, BOTH front wings hand rolled by a very experienced panel maker, both NEW inner wings and a FUEL TANK, an exact copy of the original by the same man, two dickey seat foot well pans and a new rear number plate box.

The following items are a few of the items that spring to mind that have been purchased NEW old original stock over the years and include clutch plate, Carburetor (yes new unused), brake pipes and silicon fluid, air filter (from the Roadster club) and I am sure many other items when I look, I will add further details as I collate a list.

Nothing forces the sale of my Roadster which is garaged but with a time consuming business and a Super 7 that also needs attention this car deserves to have the time and enthusiasm needed from a new owner.

Additoinal information added 07/ 02/ 2010.

Having now assembled the parts together I have found that there is a new distributor complete with points rotor arm, plugs and leads, the clutch is a Borg and Beck and is complete i. e. pressure plate, thrust bearing and clutch driven plate (not just the plate as mentioned earlier)

Regarding the general condition it is as you see, I can say that I am not aware of any significant missing items, the clips for the inner wings etc are attached to the old ones, all the lights are there, one or two of the rear number plate letters are either damaged or missing, the hood frame and importantly the rear window is there, carpet sets are present for patterns, floor boards are there as are a new set previously cut out, as I said I am not aware of anything major missing but if you cannot see it in the pictures please ask and I will confirm, there are some 37 images in total so if you would like further images please let me have your email address and I will forward them.

I have owned this car for some 20 years or more and have spent in excess of £10, 000 on the purchase of the car and parts.

Delivery by trailer can be arranged at a mutually agreed cost.
