This stunning TR6 was restored by TR specialists TRGB in 2018, and displayed at the NEC National Classic Car Show in the same year. The restoration involved having all mechanicals rebuilt / replaced / overhauled, as required as well a complete bodywork restoration. The work included reconditioning the differential and fitting an electric fan, stainless steel exhaust and electronic ignition.
As part of the mechanical work the engine was rebuilt by Triumph specialists Jigsaw Racing to Stage 2 specification including gas flowed cylinder head, all balanced bottom end and heat treated crankshaft. The often troublesome fuel injection was replaced by triple Weber carburettors for performance and improved reliability.
The car was taken on a 3, 500 mile reliability tour in aid of Macmillan Charity, in May 2019. This started in Cadiz, Spain and finished at Cape Cornwall. Despite extreme temperatures in the mountains and roads of all conditions, the car performed faultlessly. A testament to the work carried out during restoration.
