Possibly one of the most successful 6x6 trucks ever. Built in 1986 at the height of the Cold War the same year Chernobyl exploded. This Zil was sourced from the military in Poland where it was maintained until its release from service and imported two years ago. Since then it has undergone a re registration to UK plates with the addition of reversing light and hazards for uk law.
It also has front and rear cameras added.
This model has a 6 tonne winch fitted to the front bumper which runs off a pto.
The Box on this Zil 131 is a Kung NBC box. It has a original Diesel Heater, and NBC air scrubber with carbon filter for those pesky Nuclear wars! In addition there is a polish military Geiger counter.
The interior of the box has been sympathetically retro fitted as a camper retaining much of the original feel of the command centre. The box is complete with 12v Solar panel and battery system.
The intention going forward was to fit a LPG fuel system utilising the secondary fuel tank space for a LPG tank. The fact that the Zil engine is a Petrol V8 multi fuel spec was especially important to future proof the use of the machine as it can run on vegetable produced low octane fuel. Your purchasing a slice of Soviet history and an extremely capable off road truck. Sad to see it go, but needs must.
