I purchased this late 2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 from an automotive journalist just a few months ago with the intention of using it as our companies work horse/ tow vehicle. As it happens, upon inspecting the vehicle I was simply astounded by the vehicle's condition and simply had to have it. I have owned a number of classic range rovers, and land rovers of this era and as we all know they are often big heavy rust buckets that require a dust pan and brush to transport them.
This car is far far from that, it is apparent from the story the previous owner told me that he was correct in it forming part of a private car collection in Japan. This car is a time capsule, no rust whatsoever that can be seen and the interior is simply magnificent. Everything works! The bodywork is virtually unmarked and for a car of this age it looks as good as new.
As it was told to me by the previous owner, a well regarded automotive journalist and racing driver/ instructor Piotr Frankowski; the car had a single Japanese owner before being imported to the UK in June 2019 at which time it was purchased by Piotr.
This car really needs to be seen to be appreciated, and yes you are reading the mileage correctly it is just over 50, 000 miles from new with effectively 3 previous owners. 1 of which being a Japanese car collector, the second of which being a fastidious automotive journalist who maintained this car with the highest grade fuels and lubricants, and the third being me, the owner of a classic car storage and maintenance business who purchased it as a tow vehicle and work horse but now feel that its condition is too good for our requirements as it deserves to be appreciated and treasured in this fantastic time-warp condition.
This car is a rare 7 seater version and it has the original tool kit and Land Rover warning triangle bag.
The car has yet to be undersealed meaning you can see it in the flesh for yourself, it is being stored indoors in our storage facility ready for viewing. We were about to under-seal the underside it but thought it was better to hold off for someone to see the underside for themselves before 'hiding' it.
We have just serviced the car with new plugs, fuel filter, air filter, engine oil, sump plug, gearbox oil service with new ATF fluid, gearbox seal and gearbox oil filter. We have also just replaced the front drive shaft as the old one had endured some damage.
Please come and see it to believe it.
Sincerely,
Ben
