Description
Current mileage 79, 441. This is the car that is personally-known to Reg Spencer who designed the car’s F60 engine at Rolls-Royce and which features in his work An Engine For A Princess. This is the car that was in the ‘great saloon cars’ display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2005. The owner (me) is currently writing a book on the BMC/ Rolls-Royce collaboration on the 4 Litre R.
Invoices going back to 2003. I’ve had the car since 31 May 2003. I’m the third and sixth owner. I sold the car in 2008, then bought the car back in 2011 as I couldn’t live without it.
Lambswool overrugs, 14” rims on radials, immaculate interior. A very-much cosseted car, owned by a Rolls-Royce Heritage Trust member.
In that time a significant amount of work has been carried out on the car, being for example:
• an engine rebuild in February 2006 since when the car has covered around 13, 000 miles
• new engine mountings
• new steering box
• rebuilt carburettors
• replacement rear axle
• new brake pipes, cylinders and shoes
• front suspension bushes replaced
• new old stock front springs
• new n/ s front kingpin
• new brake master cylinder
• new shackle and shock absorber bushes
• new rear wheel cylinders and half shaft seals
Always garaged in my ownership, only ever once taken out in the rain. Engine and axle oil religiously changed every few thousand miles, but axle oil checked every 500 miles, just to make sure.
I can also supply new spare an unused SU fuel pump for what I paid for it. Also I have around 15 fuel filters which I can sell with the car for an agreed amount.
Will also be supplied with the trophies that the car has won over the years.
I want to be completely up-front with this car and point out to any potential buyer everything that still needs to be addressed.
£15, 500 negotiable.
