Here is my incredibly rare Ford Transit 4x4 County.
Not many of these made, and very few remaining now.
This is the twin rear wheel version, so seriously heavy duty, and plenty of surface area of tyres for grip etc.
Set of all-terrain style tyres fitted.
MOT has just ran out a week or so ago.
Will need some work to pass another but nothing too drastic in my opinion.
Van has been fully sprayed in U-POL Raptor Seal bed-liner paint, camo colours. Looks very robust and cool. Paint is flaky in areas and is a DIY job at the end of the day, so don't expect a concourse paint job!
Van runs and drives and stops. Gearbox or transfer box noisy but previous owner said it has been like it a year or so, and driven regularly regardless of this.
Its a pretty straight and solid van, but like all Transits of this area, it has had welding, patches and 'MOT welding' etc done over the years.
There are some areas of rust and bits that need attending to. No vastly rotten areas, but the front inner arches need repairs, the front and rear cross members have rot in them. Usual Transit areas basically, and this really isn't too bad to sort out and make a good job of. The fact that the MOT has only just expired, tells you that the van wont be too bad rust wise, it can only deteriate so much in a year!
Underside has all been given a generous coat of wax oil and under sealer to keep it well protected.
The rear has been insulated and carpeted out fully. The front cab seems all complete and in reasonable condition.
Comes with a host of spares, the original County front bull bars/ nudge bar, transfer box, lots of spare mechanical parts etc. Tow bar fitted.
Keys and v5 logbook in hand.
These vans are supposed to be real good off-road, and make great camper conversions too. Very desirable vans/ 4x4's these days, great investments, and nice examples are making un-thinkable figures, for an old Transit!
Recent purchase for me, was looking to repair it, MOT it and use it as a bit of a work van/ off-roading toy/ camper type of thing, and very handy to drag a trailer behind.
Too many projects on the go, and too many cars laying about, so only advertising it in case a fellow enthusiast wants to take the van on, if not then am happy to hang onto it until I can take it on myself.
